Psychotherapy
I am trained in the Conversational Model of psychotherapy, which is a simple, powerful, jargon-free approach that is used to help people with a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, suicidality and self-harm, and chronic physical symptoms. It is particularly helpful for people who have experienced developmental or complex trauma, including people with chronic depression or a diagnosis of Borderline or other personality disorder. You can find a downloadable brochure with more information about Conversational Model psychotherapy and what to expect in therapy here.

For clients who are interested and who might benefit, I also offer the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) as part of the psychotherapy process. The SSP is a Polyvagal Theory-based listening programme which uses modified music to exercise the middle ear muscles and stimulate the vagus nerve, increasing the flexibility of the autonomic nervous system and activating the Social Engagement System. It is not a stand-alone therapy, but can increase the effectiveness of other forms of therapy. You can find more information about the SSP here.
